In Lancing, from 1 December, knitted sheep and a shepherd are placed in shops and buildings, so that families can hunt for them and their numbers to complete a trail leaflet. On the leaflet is the story of Christmas. Families are encouraged to have fun exploring and discovering that Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus.
Our local shops, Library and Children’s Centre are happy to be involved and look after the sheep until Christmas Eve, when the prize winners are drawn at the Candlelight Crib Service at St Michael and All Angels Church at 5.30 pm. At this service the children are also given the opportunity to place animals in the large crib.
You can download the leaflet below or collect a copy from St Michael's, Lancing Library, WH Smith or Boots.
